A time interval is defined for each of the above combinations and a function of voltage is defined, calculated and integrated under this interval, then a number is obtained by dividing the integral by the pulse length or a pulse factor-dependent scale factor, and then this number is used to chose the desired combination. A method for regulating the supply of pulsed dc current to high voltage electrodes in an electrostatic separator comprises varying the current frequency, pulse height and/or pulse length in order to obtain a number of frequency-height-length combinations, and measuring the voltage between the emission and precipitation electrodes. A time interval (~t) with a length not exceeding the pulse period time (T = 1/f) is defined for each of the above combinations, where f is the frequency and is not less than the pulse length (t). A function of voltage f(U) is defined, calculated and integrated under (~t), a number is obtained by dividing the integral by (t) or a pulse factor-dependent scale factor, and this number is used to choose the desired combination. |
