PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily enforce assembly of an article storing shelf by a relatively simple constitution and advantageously in cost and to always obtain a stable base isolation effect by mounting and supporting a portable article supporting tool by a mounting and supporting member and supporting a main body reciprocatingly and freely movably in the horizontal direction by the mounting and supporting member via a rolling body. SOLUTION: Article storing shelves 2 having a plurality of article storing parts 1 in vertical and lateral directions are provided with exit and entrance sides of articles A in a state that the sides are opposed each other. Between the opposed article storing shelves 2, a stacker crane 5 moving along an upper rail 3 and a lower rail 4 disposed along the article storing shelves 2 is provided. The stacker crane 5 is constituted of a moving truck 6 moving on the lower rail 4, a pair of guide frames 7 standing on the moving truck 6 and an elevating/lowering base 8 constituted so as to be elevatable in the vertical direction along these guide frames 7. The elevating/lowering base 8 is provided with an elongatable/contractable fork device 9. By this elongating/contracting operation, articles A are carried together with a pallet P and are transferred between each article storing part 1 and an article carrying in/out part 10.
