PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a uniform recording image for keeping uniformly the thickness of an isotropic phase or a cholesteric liquid crystal phase of a cholosteric liquid crystal heat-sensitive recording layer by making a spacer member exist in the cholesteric liquid crystal heat-sensitive recording layer, particularly for preventing the generation of unevenness of a selective reflection color. SOLUTION: After a part of the whole of an area of a heat-sensitive recording layer reaches the temperature representing an isotropic phase by using, for example, a heating means and then the recording material is cooled down to the temperature of demonstrating a cholesteric reflection color, the recording material is quenched to fix the cholesteric reflection color, and then the recording material is heated again to crystallize at least a part of it to form the white color display state on the recording layer, and a spacer member is provided in the heat-sensitive recording layer. |
