PURPOSE:To expand a visual field angle without executing a rubbing treatment by consisting a liquid crystal layer of liquid crystal domains which consist of liquid crystal unit cells segmented by differences in level or wall surfaces and consist of the liquid crystal molecules arranged substantially horizontally with substrates and have various bearings at the time of not impressing electric fields to the panel. CONSTITUTION:This nematic liquid crystal material 109 consists of approximately the circular microunit liquid crystal cells which are held by two sheets of substrates 101, 102 with electrodes 103, 104 and are circumferentially enclosed by high polymer walls 110 near at least substrate surfaces. In addition, the liquid crystal molecules existing at the plane running the central part of the unit liquid crystal cells in the thickness direction of the liquid crystal layer and paralleling with the substrates at ratios nearly equal to the various directions within the parallel planes are oriented. The panel has at least one sheet of polarizing plates 107 and 108. The liquid crystals have positive dielectric anisotropy. |
