PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image forming surface on a belt shape photoreceptor from being scratched or soiled by a user's hand brought into contact therewith, in the case of removing jammed paper or the like. SOLUTION: The device is allowed to dispose the belt position detecting mark M corresponding to a position of a seam 10A on the inner peripheral surface of the belt photoreceptor 10, so that the seam 10A stops on a recording paper transporting plane in the vicinity of a transfer roller 16b by interrupting power supply with respect to a motor driving the belt photoreceptor 10, based on detection of the detection mark M by the mark detection sensor ST, when the image formation is completed or a jamming of recording paper is detected. As a result, even if the user's hand is put in the transporting plane, the image forming plane of the belt photoreceptor 10 is kept out of contact. |
