PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect data on a traffic state by an improved method by identifying and transmitting a change existing between data on the traffic condition and present data. SOLUTION: In this method, traffic condition is reported to a center data base for automatically detecting and reporting the traffic conditions and permitting other users of a distributed vehicle computing system so use the states. When the reception of transmission for reporting data from a mobile unit is detected, received data are stored and it is filtered (S700-706). Received data on the traffic condition reported by the mobile unit is compared with present traffic state data. When a change between the traffic conditions is identified, the change is stored and it is judged whether the update of the present traffic condition in the data base is required or not (S708-714). When update is required, update is generated and the mobile unit receiving the update is identified. Update is transmitted to the identified or selected mobile unit (S716-720). |
