<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the magnetic recording and reproducing device which can be made small-sized and compact by arranging a mechanism member such as the energizing spring, etc., of a detecting mechanism for a lug for mis-erasure detection by effectively using an internal structure space. SOLUTION: A tape recorder as the magnetic recording and reproducing device has a lug detection lever 18 for detecting whether or not a loaded cassette case 21 has a lug 21. The detection lever 18 is energized counterclockwise by the energizing spring 20 and driven and rotated between an initial position and a sound recording operation position by a sound recording operation plate which is slid, thereby detecting whether or not the lug is present from the rotational state. The energizing spring 20 is efficiently arranged intruding the area R0 surrounded with the prolongation surfaces of the back surface 21c, bottom surface 21a of the loaded cassette case and the corner curved surface 21d.</p> |
