摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a scanning optical device constituted so that scanning width can be kept constant even when the performance of optical parts are changed because of the change of environment. SOLUTION: By utilizing the magnification chromatic aberration of an (fθ) lens 30, wavelength is changed so as to suppress the fluctuation of the scanning width. By a microcomputer 50, a driver 51 is controlled based on plotting data to be inputted so as to drive a semiconductor laser 11. Besides, when the change of temperature detected by a temperature sensor 52 becomes over a prescribed range, a test printing action is executed so as to obtain the scanning width by the microcomputer 50. Based on deviation from a reference value, the difference of power and correction amount used for keeping the scanning width constant are obtained by the microcomputer 50. Besides, a voltage adjuster 53 is controlled based on the correction amount by the microcomputer 50 so that voltage required when the laser 11 is driven by the driver 51 is adjusted and the wavelength is changed.
