PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance cooling performance without complicating a structure, to aim at making the size small. SOLUTION: A transformer is structured so that a transformer main body 11 and a SF6 gas 12 for cooling and insulating this transformer main body 11 is received in a tank 13. The transformer main body 11 is constituted of an iron core 16 and a winding 17 which is wound concentrically on this iron core 16. A heat collector part 18a of a plate heat pipe 18 is inserted into a cap interlayered between a high-voltage layer and a low-voltage layer from among the windings 17. A heat radiator 18b of the plate heat pipe 18 is adhered closely to the inner face part of the tank 13. The plate heat pipe 18 is constituted into a crank shape having two bent parts 18c, and also the bent part 18c is structured so as to be substantially arc-like.
