PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal by which a read image optimum to a copy function and a read image optimum to a transmission function can be obtained by one (subscanning) reading only so as to conduct copying and transmission processing. SOLUTION: In the case a copy function and a transmission function are simultaneously set in the communication terminal, a read section 7 conducts reading twice for copying and transmission purposes for each main scanning line. A read image processing section 8 uses a copy parameter 9 to apply image processing for copying to the image read for copying and stores the result to an image memory 11. Furthermore, the read image processing section 8 uses a transmission parameter 10 to apply image processing for the transmission to the image read for the transmission and stores the result to the image memory 11. The image processed for the copying and the image processed for the transmission can be obtained through one subscanning (reading operation) by repeating the processing above.
