PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive special broadcasting urging to exchange batteries and to allow an owner to surely recognize a dry battery exchange time, when the voltage of an included dry battery falls below a reference value, by deciding whether or not the battery voltage of power supply part falls below the reference value and controlling a reception selective operation in a selective calling signal receiving part on the basis of the decision results. SOLUTION: A selective calling signal sent from a base station or a fixed station is received by an antenna 1 and demodulated by a demodulating part 2. An output 3 of the demodulating part is converted into a digital signal by a modem in a selective calling signal receiving part 4. A receiver decides whether or not the selective calling signal converted into the digital signal is an object of calling in an arithmetic circuit. As decision conditions, whether or not the designation information of the receiver in which a battery voltage falls below a fixed value is included is determined with the selective calling signal in addition to the collation of a calling number. A CPU opens an audio gate and controls a broadcasting message, so as to be outputted to an output 5 when it agrees with the selective calling conditions.
