PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve vibration characteristics of a piezoelectric vibrator and to efficiently vibrate it. SOLUTION: This piezoelectric vibrator 10 is provided with a piezoelectric vibration piece 11 fixed to a container at one end part and airtightly sealed inside the container and exciting electrode films 16 respectively independently provided on both front and rear surfaces and side face of the piezoelectric vibration piece 11 and provided with a connection part for connecting an external terminal. In this case, near both ends in a width direction of the vibration part of the piezoelectric vibration piece 11, two thin grooves 19 extended in the longitudinal direction of the piezoelectric vibration piece 11 are respectively provided on both front and back surfaces, one of the poles of the exciting electrode film 16 is formed on the inner surface of the thin groove 19 and the other pole of the exciting electrode film 16 is formed on the side face facing the inner surface.
