PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video telephone system for preventing the damage of portability in the case of utilization as a simple telephone set. SOLUTION: This system is composed of a main body 10 of telephone set and the extension unit of an image output part 20, an image input part 30, a voice output part 40 and voice input part 50 to be connected with this main body 10 of telephone set as needed. Then, a control/multiplexing and demultiplexing part 12 in the main body 10 of telephone set extracts voice data and image data by demultiplexing data for video telephone received by a public network interface part 11, outputs these extracted voice data and image data to a line interface part 13, generates data for video telephone by multiplexing image data and voice data inputted by the line interface part 13 and transmits these generated data for video telephone to the public network interface part 11. |
