PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable shield automatic controller in which an electromagnetic shield constitution for a desired frequency band can be arranged automatically by making the distributed states of wave absorbers provided in the controller automatically adjustable adaptively to a desired characteristic. SOLUTION: The wave absorbing characteristic of a variable shield automatic controller is made variable against frequencies, positions, or electric field strengths by providing a plurality of wave absorber sheets 14 and 15 in which wave absorbers are distributed against an object making electromagnetic radiation in a laminated state where the sheet 14 is fixed and the sheet 15 is kept in a movable stage. The controller automatically suppresses unnecessary electromagnetic radiation by automatically controlling the movable wave absorber sheet 15.
