PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a multilayer ceramic capacitor, having superior temperature characteristic, superior reliability in high temperature load, which can be miniaturized and formed into a large capacitance. SOLUTION: Shells 4, consisting of a material having the dielectric constant lower than a dielectric ceramic, are formed on the circumference of the cores 3 consisting of dielectric ceramic particles. A plurality of internal electrodes 5a to 5f are arranged in a ceramic sintered body 2 of a core shell structure, and a plurality of external electrodes 6 and 7 are formed on the external surface of the ceramic sintered body 2. When a cross section along an arbitrary direction of the ceramic sintered body 2 is viewed, the ratio of areas for the core 3 and the shell 4 is within the range of 7:3 to 3:7.
