ELECTROLUMINESCENT ELEMENT AND ITS MANUFACTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an EL(electroluminescent) element and its manufacturing method which can provide correct pattern accuracy of a luminescent layer, is excellent in display performance and does not cause a problem such as a short circuit between electrodes. SOLUTION: This EL element is so composed that a luminescent layer 3 is caught between two patterned electrodes 1, 4 according to their patterns. In this case, at least one patterned layer 2 of which surface wettability to a lamination material is improved by light irradiation is arranged, and the luminescent layer 3 is laminated by utilizing the difference of the surface wettability between a part on which light is irradiated and a part on which light is not irradiated.
