PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the optical waveguide device, which can have an optical waveguide element fixed to a temperature control function element or package by soldering, and its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The optical waveguide device 51 is composed of the optical waveguide element 52 which has a recessed part 53 and a Peltier element 54 for the temperature control. A multi-layered film is formed on the bottom of the recessed part 53 and a layer of solder 55 is formed on the opposite surface of the Peltier element 54 which faces the recessed part 53. The Peltier element 54 while fitted in the recessed part 53 is held at high temperature to fuse the solder 55 and the optical waveguide element 52 and Peltier element 54 are fixed. The optical waveguide element 52 can similarly be fixed to other components. |
