PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the communication equipment to execute a specific operation without being transited to a usual operating mode unnecessarily and to save power consumption. SOLUTION: A key operation section 40 has a general input key 40A and a special key 40B. A key depression detection section 30 outputs an interrupt signal to a CPU 34 in response to the entry from the general input key 40A to transit the power saving mode to the usual mode. Furthermore, a backlight 38 is activated via a backlight power supply control section 36 to display an LCD display section 42 via an LCD driver 44. On the other hand, no interruption signal is outputted to the CPU 34 in response to the input from the special key 40B to keep the power saving mode. Furthermore, the backlight 38 is activated via the backlight power supply control section 36 to display the LCD display section 42 via the LCD driver 44. Thus, while keeping the power saving mode, the backlight is lighted and the LCD display is conducted to suppress power consumption. |
