LIGHT-WEIGHT PORTABLE SCANNER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scanner provided with only operating the smallest components by arranging an image sensing module and a moving mechanism which receives supplied power and irradiation control signals from an operating interface module. SOLUTION: The image sensing module and the moving mechanism are arranged to receive the supplied power and the irradiation control signals from the operating interface module. In this scanner, the moving mechanism 304 moves a scanning document and passes it through the image sensing module 302 at a stationary speed. The image sensing module 302 and the moving mechanism 304 are connected to an interface engine in a calculating device 314 and the interface engine is provided with a control circuit for receiving system control signals from the calculating device 314 and generating logical control signals to the image sensing module 302 and the moving mechanism 304 to be operated in synchronism. The interface engine receives the supplied power so as to operate the image sensing module 302 and the moving mechanism 304 to be operated.
