PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photograph printing device and a photograph printing method by which a customer does not need order extra printing specially and an operator can easily make as many prints as customers request. SOLUTION: This device is equipped with an exposure part exposing an image frame of a negative film on photographic paper, a scanner 15 reading the image frame of the negative film, a person number decision means 13c deciding the number of photographed person from information on the image frame read by the scanner 15, and a controller 13 deciding the number of prints to be prepared on the photographic paper on the basis of the number of persons decided by the decision means 13c.
