The roof is steeply pitched, with horizontal beams (13,17) forming the floors of lower and upper attic rooms there are reinforcing gussets or brackets (18) at the lower ends of the rafters (14,15). There are vertical posts (12) supporting the lower ends of the rafters, and supporting the wall covering in the lower attic room. There are further vertical posts in the upper attic room.
