PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a leakage low frequency electric field from a matrix type panel part. SOLUTION: When a panel part 1 is formed into a general configuration having a sheet of common electrode 24 over the whole display area of the panel, the maximum voltage difference of a reference signal supplied to the common electrode 24 is prescribed to <=0.3678x-0.6136 (x is the area of this display area). When the panel part 1 is a so-called opposite source structure, that is, provided with plural column electrodes in the panel, the maximum voltage difference of the reference signal supplied to the column electrodes is prescribed to <=ax-b (a=0.3565 y-0.6829, b=-0.00937y+0.7091, y is the ratio of the area of the whole column electrodes to the area of the display area). Further, when the panel part 1 is the opposite source structure, a mean area per a unit length of the partial column electrode opposite to a signal line is smaller than the mean area per the unit length of the remainder part excepting the partial column electrode.
