PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication apparatus for performing an operation by taking low power consumption into consideration. SOLUTION: This communication apparatus is provided with a rotary encoder 140 for an X axis and the rotary encoder 141 for a Y axis for detecting a relative position and a control part 131 for transmitting information detected by the rotary encoder 140 for the X axis and the rotary encoder 141 for the Y axis through an infrared ray transmission/reception part 100 and an infrared ray controller 101 to the outside, controlling the scanning timing of the rotary encoder 140 for the X axis and the rotary encoder 141 for the Y axis and reducing the consumption of a built-in power source 150. By the infrared ray mouse, the operation is performed without using the built-in power source in the case that power can be supplied from a computer main body and the operation is performed in the operation mode of the low power consumption while using the built-in power source in the case that the power can not be supplied from the computer main body. Thus, the infrared ray mouse reduces the consumption of the built-in power source. |
