PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an image developing material fixed to a rotor on the heating side from sticking to a rotor forming a nip, by setting a distance traveled by the surface of each rotor by the time a heating means is heated after the start of the rotation of the rotor greater than a nip width. SOLUTION: By pressing a fixing film 25 to a heater 20 from below, a fixing nip N is formed between the fixing film 25 and it, and if the width (nip width) of a fixing nip N in the direction of the rotation of a pressure roller 26 denotes (a), the nip width (a) is set to such a degree that toner on a recording material P can suitably be heated and pressurized. Also, the length of the periphery of each of the rotors 25 and 26 and the timing of heating by heating means 20 are set so that when the fixed toner runs into the nip N again, a nip forming portion of the pressure roller has been heated at least once. That is, a distance traveled by the surface of each of the rotors 25 and 26 by the time the heating means 20 is heated after the start of the rotation of each of the rotors 25 and 26 is set greater than the nip width (a). |
