IMAGE FORMING MATERIAL AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming material using a low-cast substrate which does not require etching, is favorable for the environment and has high hydrophilic property and adhesiveness by forming a photosensitive layer containing a dye having its absorption band in infrared light and a novolak resin obtained by condensing phenols with aldehydes or ketones on a substrate. SOLUTION: The image forming material has a photosensitive layer containing a dye having its absorption band in infrared light and a novolak resin obtained by condensing phenols with aldehydes or ketones on the substrate with a hydrophilic layer containing one of a water-dispersible filler and a silicate. The water-dispersible filler is preferably porous silica or a zeolite and the amount of the filler is 10-100 wt.% of the hydrophilic layer. The average particle diameter of the filler is 0.2-10 μm and the surface of the filler may be inorganically treated.
