PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent decrease in the productivity of an original reader and an image forming device by properly correcting a drive condition of a scanning optical system even when the drive condition of the scaning optical system is changed due to a temperature change. SOLUTION: When copying is finished (2010), a counter starts counting and a RAM stores a temperature t1 of a motor at the time (2020). The count is set to a prescribed time T minutes (2030). A temperature t2 is again detected after the T minutes in a step 2040, and when a temperature change t1-t2 exceeds a preset temperarueΔt in a step 2050, preliminary scanning is conducted. The decision by the step 2050 is repeated every T min while updating the temperature t1 stored in the RAM (2070, 2080).
