摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress brightness irregularities caused by liquid crystal layer thickness irregularities (gap irregularities) of a liquid crystal panel, and to suppress color irregularities by correcting so as to obtain a similar characteristic, especially even if generation forms of the brightness irregularities are different for every liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: A correction circuit 50 for generating a correction signal for correcting brightness irregularities caused by liquid crystal layer thickness irregularities of a liquid crystal panel, is installed. The correction circuit 50 generates a correction signal obtained by modulating a signal changing gently so that the amplitude becomes smaller toward the center in the horizontal direction of the liquid crystal panel and that the amplitude becomes smaller toward the center in the vertical direction by viewing the signal in the vertical direction, with a signal obtained by removing a high-pass component from an input image signal. The correction signal from the correction circuit 50 is added to the input image signal by an addition means 51, and then supplied to a liquid crystal panel part 10 after executing a signal processing for alternating-current driving or the like. By applying a formation in which the correction signal is superimposed on the input image signal of the liquid crystal panel in this way, brightness irregularities can be corrected. Especially, by correcting brightness irregularities of each three-board type liquid crystal panel so as to obtain the same brightness characteristic, generation of color irregularities can be suppressed.
