PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an LED array element which can easily form a mirror part of the LED array element having a mirror structure. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing an LED array element having a mirror structure, a mirror surrounding LEDs 12 other than their light emission directions for reflecting light emitted in non-vertical directions generally toward a vertical direction is provided on the LEDs 12 forming a surface light-emitting LED array. The method includes steps of forming a lift-off pattern 15 covering light emitting parts of the LEDs 12, forming a mirror structure in the periphery of the light emitting parts of the LEDs 12, forming high-reflectance mirror material 18 on the mirror structure, and subjecting the reflective mirror material 18 to a lift-off process with use of the lift-off pattern 15. |
