METHOD FOR READING INFORMATION ABOUT RADIATION IMAGE AND STIMULABLE PHOSPHOR SHEET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to easily obtain radiation images of high definition by composing a stimulable phosphor sheet of strip partition made of a material reflecting excitation light and a region that is subdivided by the partition and is filled with stimulable phosphors. SOLUTION: A stimulable phosphor sheet 20 consists of strip partition 11 that subdivide a plane in a one-dimensional direction and are made of a material reflecting excitation light and a region 12 that is subdivided by the partition 11 and is filled with stimulable phosphors. The stimulable phosphor sheet 20 where the information about radiation images are stored and recorded as latent images is irradiated with excitation light in the direction (x) across the strip partition 11. Then, the information about radiation images can be obtained as electric picture signals by photoelectrically detecting stimulable luminescent light emitted from the latent images in the section of the stimulable phosphor sheet 20 irradiated with the excitation light. The division of a pixel by the sheet 20 simplifies and facilitates readout, and the control of the scattering of the excitation light in the sheet 20 also makes it possible to reproduce radiation images of high sharpness.
