PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable identification of an original polymer structure and the determination of components by heating vulcanized rubber in the presence of alkyl halide, solubilizing it into a solvent, and analyzing the constituents of its soluble part. SOLUTION: Vulcanized rubber is, for example, freeze-crushed into powder and extracted with ether through the use of a Soxhlet extractor. A vulcanizing agent, a vulcanization accelerator, and other additives which are non-combined parts with polymers, are obtained from the extracted parts. Alkyl halide is added to an extraction residue in toluene and heated to bring into reaction with, for example, methyl iodine to cut a crosslinking structure and a vulcanization accelerator residue. 2-methyl benzothiazole, which occurs from the residue, is verified by gas chromatography. Methyl iodine and toluene or ODCB as a solvent are added to vulcanized rubber and brought into reaction, for example, at 150 deg.C for 10 h. The rubber becomes soluble in a solvent by the reaction. A centrifuged supernatant obtained by separation into a sediment part and a supernatant is condensed, dried, and extracted by a solvent, and its undissolved part is taken as a rubber component-1, and its dissolved part is added to a solvent to form sediment again, to be a rubber component-2.
|
