<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a line exchange network with a small delay time and less overhead by reducing a load required for connection setting. SOLUTION: Each of relay exchanges TS-1, TS-2 has a timer means and when no packet passes within a setting time of the timer means, the synchronous transfer mode STM connection is held and a packet to which a setting time extension request is written is transferred from a source side subscriber exchange for the setting time of the timer means, the hold time of the STM connection is extended as required or after the STM connection is set as a rule, the STM connection is held for a long time, the subscriber exchange monitors it and when it is discriminated that the STM connection is inactive, the subscriber exchange transfers a packet to which a release request of the STM connection and the STM connection is released as required.</p> |
