<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-speed image compression device, the method, a code tree generation method and an information recording medium capable of compression images, especially on a personal computer side, at a high speed by using improved DPCM and improved VF type codes. SOLUTION: By an encoding table means 4 for performing the generation of difference and nonlinear type quantization, input signals and prediction signals are inputted and a quantization value is obtained at once by table reference. By a local decoding table means 5, the quantization value and the prediction signals are inputted and a decoding value is obtained at once by the table reference.</p> |
