PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of improving a luminescence brightness, and simultaneously capable of reducing the generation of animation false contours, without reducing the expressible number of gradations. SOLUTION: One TV field is composed of periods having prescribed brightness weights (sub-fields SF1, SF2, SF3 and SF4), and a prescribed value of gradation of an input image signal is expressed by combination of lighting and non-lighting between a luminous cell A and a luminous cell B in a luminescence period. |
