PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve various characteristics such as a rate characteristic of charge/discharge and conservativeness and provide an element that has a good cycle characteristic as a secondary battery and high energy density, by using a structure comprising needle-shaped active particles filled with solid electrolyte for at least one clearance portion of an electrode, in the element where the solid electrolyte is interposed between the pair of electrodes. SOLUTION: A needle-shaped active particles is Li1+xMn2-xO4 (0.1<=x<=0.6), is formed by thermally treating a mixture composed of lithium compound or manganese compound under oxidized atmosphere at 550-900 deg.C. Preferably, major diameter (a) of particles is 0.1<=a<=25 μm, shorter diameter (b) of particles is 0.05<=b<=15 μm, aspect ratio (c=a/b) is 2<=c<=50. Network formation of electrode active material having unique shape of needle-shaped crystal particles and filling of solid electrolyte around it improve probability of abutting between particles, establishment of an ion conductive path, and electronic conductivity, contributes reduction of polarization resistance, and provides large current. |
