PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiplexer, that discriminates a signal series that is multiplexed/demultiplexed and selects a signal series that is multiplexed/ demultiplexed, and to provide a demultiplexer and a multiplex system. SOLUTION: An optical attenuator 105 attenuates one of two series of optical pulse train signals, and the attenuated signal and the other series are multiplexed in an optical MUX 100 so that the power (amplitude) of the two series of the modulated optical pulse train signals differs from each other, a VD detection circuit 207 of an optical DEMUX 200 indirectly detect the amplitude of the optical pulse train signals after being demultiplexed, discriminates which series is demultiplexed on the basis of the amplitude detected by a comparator 208 and a control circuit 209 and a mixer 210 control timing for demultiplexing, so that the series discriminated by the comparator 208 matches with a series instructed externally by a selection signal. |
