PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a vehicle from failure on a road while preventing the complexity of a device from increasing by engaging a starting clutch when a backup controller detects the failure of a clutch control means, and driving the vehicle in a motor single mode. SOLUTION: If a starting clutch 8 which has an electric control system such as a controller 28 and a clutch control valve 45 in a hydraulic circuit 28, fails the clutch control valve 45 is a normally open current-proportional-pressure control valve, so it is fixed at an open position. The second clutch oil path 39 opens, and pressure oil is supplied to the start clutch 8 so as to keep a clutch in an engaged condition. The controller 28 serves as a backup control means, and drives a motor generator in a motor single mode to drive a vehicle. A fail safe function is provided, thus it is possible to prevent a hybrid vehicle with the starting clutch 8 from failure on a road positively, thereby improving safety even under fault conditions. |
