PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability of a setting unit by providing an operating part which is continuously and manually operated and displaced in the prescribed direction to decide the set value and an interface part which can be freely attached to and detached from a controller to send the set value to the controller. SOLUTION: An operating part 2 serves as a dial type switch and selects the discontinuous value that is prepared as a candidate of the set value to decide the set value. In this respect, the part 2 is continuously and manually revolved and displaced in its revolving direction. A switching part 5 switches the continuous and manual operations of the part 2 to decide the set value in each of plural prescribed processes. A display part 3 shows the name of a prescribed process whose process time is controlled when its set value is decided. An interface part 4 sends the set value to a programmable controller via the serial communication and can be freely attached to and detached from the programmable controller.
