PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a camera shutter small in size and light in weight, and to reduce the number of parts. SOLUTION: The camera shutter 0 is assembled by using a base plate 1 with an opening 2. A pair of light shielding blades 3L and 3R are arranged on the base plate 1 so as to be rotated between an open position and a closing position, then, the opening 2 is opened/closed by the blades. A driving member which is connected to a pair of the light shielding blades 3L and 3R so as to rotate the blades is arranged. The driving member is made of shape memory alloy 5, one end of the member is engaged with one light shielding blade 3L and the other end of the member is engaged with the other light shielding blade 3R, and the member is deformed in accordance with the power supply so as to mutually interlock the pair of light shielding blades 3L and 3R The shape memory alloy 5 is deformed with contraction in accordance with the power supply, then, the pair of light shielding blades 3L and 3R positioned in the closed state is rotated in a direction opposite to each other so as to be positioned in the open state, besides, spring members 6L and 6R are engaged with the light shielding blades 3L and 3R, respectively, then, the pair of light shielding blades 3L and 3R is returned from the open position to the closing position when the power supply is canceled to the shape memory alloy 5.
