PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a liquid crystal display device having excellent display characteristics, especially without causing display defects concerning to injection and sealing of liquid crystal. SOLUTION: In this liquid crystal display device having a display area arranged in a matrix between a pair of substrates, electrodes 107 to apply a DC bias are formed near the injection port for the liquid crystal. By adding simple electrodes near the injection port (sealing agent), and by injecting the liquid crystal or sealing the port while applying the DC bias between the electrode, the entering of impurities in the liquid crystal cell can completely be prevented.
