MULTI-FIBER OPTICAL CONNECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily connect the resin-coated optical fibers of an optical cable where the multiple resin-coated optical fibers are arranged to the multi-fiber optical connector. SOLUTION: The multi-fiber optical connector 10 has a housing 16 having coated-fiber reception parts 14 which receive the coated optical fibers 12 individually and a fixation member 18 which fixes the coated optical fibers 12 to those coated-fiber reception parts 14. The fixation member 18 has through holes 30 having a diameter a little larger than the coated optical fibers 12. When the fixation member 18 is inserted into a fixation member reception part 28 of the housing 16, those through holes 30 are aligned individually with the coated-fiber reception parts 14. The fixation member 18 moves between a 1st position where the coated optical fibers 12 received by the coated-fiber reception parts 14 are loosely inserted into the corresponding through holes 30 and a 2nd position where the resin coatings 12a of the coated optical fibers 12 are engaged at the end parts of the through holes 30.
