PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To operate measurement and visualize the measured result under the condition of hanging from the shoulder in a portable type surface quality measuring apparatus by providing a carrying case capably of setting the computation indicating part in the vertical state at carrying and the touch panel upward in the horizontal state at measuring. SOLUTION: When this apparatus is brought to a job site, the cover of a carrying case 40 is opened, a computation indicating part 30 is received in the carrying case 40, and a fixing screw is inserted into the hole of the bottom face of the case 40 and fastened. Next the cover of the case 40 is closed, the plug of the connecting cable of a drive detecting part is passed through the window on the side of the case 40, and connected to the connector of the computation indicating part 30. In the case of measuring, the drive detecting part is taken out from the case 40 under the condition of receiving the computation indicating part 30 in the case 40 for measurement. Further by shortening one side belt of the case and making a touch panel 32 upward, the touch panel 32 can be operated and the display can be confirmed in the condition of standing the computation indicating part 30.
