PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device excellent in convenience to be operated at high speed even when the sheet number of an original is large by dividing and reading a plurality of original images by using a plurality of scanners, synthesizing the respective original images on a server, turning them to one file and distributing the information of the file to plural users. SOLUTION: When an original of plural pages is read by the scanner and distributed to the users 1-3, the original images are read by using the plurality of scanners A-C and synthesized on the server S. In this case, a cover page is attached to the head of the original to be read and the information of a file name, a page number and a distribution destination address, etc., after synthesis on the server S is entered. The respective scanners A-C are provided with a storage means for storing read data, and when read is ended, transmit the signals of read end to the server S. Upon receiving read end signals, the server S starts reading the data stored in the storage means of the scanner and performs the synthesis and distribution corresponding to the information of the cover page.
