PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen the used binder quantity by adding and kneading water glass in manufacturing of a C electrode. SOLUTION: Polyvinylidenechloride(PVDC) carbide powder is boiled in a sulfuric acid water soln. at about 100 deg.C to chemically process it, it is heat treated at about 200 deg.C, the obtained powder is rinsed with water, adjusted for a pH of about 2-4 and dried, carbon black is added about 10 wt.% and mixed, wherein a water soln. of Na2SiO3 is added 10 wt.% or less proportion to the PVDC carbide powder), a polytetrafluoroethylene binder is added 10 wt.% or less (proportion with respect to the PVDC carbide powder), kneaded and sheeted by mill rolls to obtain a sheet-like electrode, electrodes 2 are opposed with a separator 1 sandwiched therebetween, Pt plates are disposed outside them to form a collector plate 3 and is furthermore sandwiched between fixed plates 4 from the outside to produce a cell. |
