PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a measuring method in which the susceptibility of a liquid or a solid-liquid mixture can be measured simply, quickly and continuously and in which the susceptibility of the liquid or the solid-liquid mixture can be measured even when the sample to be measured is in a trace amount. SOLUTION: In a space in which the distribution of a magnetic flux density and that of a magnetic flux density grade are grasped, two solid flat plates 4 are installed in parallel so as to form a space in which their mutual interval becomes constant. A liquid 3 which is different from a liquid or a solid-liquid mixture as an object to be measured is supplied to the space. After that, the liquid or the solid-liquid mixture 5 as the object to be measured is injected into the liquid. The movement speed due to the magnetic force of the liquid or the solid-liquid mixture 5 which is injected is measured. On the basis of the movement speed and on the basis of the distribution 1 of the magnetic flux density and that of the magnetic flux density grade in the known space, the susceptibility of the liquid or the solid-liquid mixture is calculated.
