MULTIUSER VIDEO HARD DISK RECORDER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiuser system and its method facilitating the time shift of television program viewing of a user and a computer readable medium. SOLUTION: Each user is identified by a related user profile and a program schedule including the list of a desired program to be recorded is held with respect to each user. The television program is recorded, stored on a hard disk 220 or another nonvolatile storing device and viewed by the user later. The television program is desirably stored by a compressing form. Each user can watch an optical television program recorder for him/herself by logging-in a system at the time of convenience. How long period to store the recorded television program since it is erased until it is overwritten by another program can optionally be designated.
