PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image pickup device that can correct a charge storage time difference of 1st and 2nd signals caused in the case of pseudo noninterlace scanning by correcting an output level of a 1st signal charge or a 2nd signal charge depending on a difference between the charge storage time in a 1st photosensitive section and the charge storage time in a 2nd photosensitive section. SOLUTION: A difference ofΔt is in existence for timing between two gate pulse signals for 1st and 2nd signal charges. Thus, a gain correction circuit provided to a camera signal processing circuit 16 corrects a gain of an output level. A CPU 18 in this gain correction discriminates whether or not a mechanical shutter is in use. When no mechanical shutter is in use, gain correction of 2nd×T/(T+Δt)} is applied to read 2nd data. Thus, a picture signal in a double speed non-additive mode without luminance difference for each line can be obtained.
