PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary laser device of simple structure, capable of setting tilt angles for a tilt reference line and a tilt reference surface at optional angles ranging from a very small angle upto an obtuse angle, and capable of setting easily a tilting direction. SOLUTION: This rotary laser device 1 is provided with a laser beam source, a range finding part 4, a turning part 3 for rotation-irradiating a reference surface with a laser beam from the laser beam source and a range-finding beam from the range finding part 4, and a scanning means 15 for polarizing the laser beam from the laser beam source on the reference surface. In this case, a main body part 2 is disposed to make a rotary shaft of the turning part 3 parallel, a rotating position of the turning part 3 is set based on a rotating position detecting means, a reference line having an optional tilt angle is formed thereby, and a tilt reference face is formed by driving the scanning means 15.
