PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display a picture in a short time at the time of preserving an inputted picture in a recording medium. SOLUTION: Original image data is fetched (step S14) and is preserved in the recording medium (step S16). When the display size of this fetched original picture data is judged to be different from the display size of a monitor device (step S20), original picture data is converted to the display size of the monitor device (step S22), and the converted original picture data (picture data for display) is also preserved in the recording medium (step S26). Thus, at the time of reproducing a picture, a displaying picture and the original picture of the same display size as the displaying picture can be fetched from the recording medium and the picture can be displayed on the monitor device in a short time.
