PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce generation of noise, and to improve cooling action by arranging a honeycomb construction capable of flowing a cooling medium so as to stretch in the longitudinal direction in a grooved gap. SOLUTION: This three-phase AC generator has a ring stator 10 composed of a laminated thin plate which supports three-phase AC windings. A rotor shaft supported by ball bearings supports a claw pole rotor R in a stator 10 region. Besides, a gap 31 is stopped up by a honeycomb construction 33. The honeycomb construction stretches in the longitudinal direction of the grooved gap 31, and reaches up to the vicinity of a field coil in the radial direction. The gap 31 is shut up by the honeycomb construction so that the surface of the rotor R may be smooth. Consequently, noise generation is decreased, and cooling action of the claw pole R is improved simultaneously.
