PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make the driving control of fine and coarse adjustment for an optical lens possible by a lever type lens driving mechanism which is provided with a specified performance such as a variable power function by a simple constitution and is made compact and whose usability is excellent. SOLUTION: This unit is provided with the optical lens 21 movable between an image pickup surface S and an imaging device 31. The lever type lens driving mechanism to move the optical lens 21 along an optical axis incorporates a lens barrel 22 holding the optical lens 21, a guide barrel 23 movably guiding the lens barrel 22 along the optical axis and a driving lever 24 movably coupled with the lens barrel 22 and also turnably supported. The lens barrel 22 is moved back and forth along the optical axis by the turning of the driving lever 24. Thus, the driving control of the fine and coarse adjustment for the optical lens 21 is made possible in a bifocal optical system 20 in which the optical lens 21 has two focal positions of high magnification and low magnification.
